Meeting the Luxembourgers - supporting reading activity
The aims of this activity are the following: • to provide the pupils with information regarding the life of Charles IV and his family members, the 14th century culture and society • to work with educational texts, historical data and information on the Internet • to familiarize the pupils with medieval scriptures, medieval documents These activities are conducted following the PIRLS methodology and serve to practice the reading literacy.
The tiger make a noise - supporting reading activity
A drama lesson based on a literary masterpiece that focuses on attention deficit disorder (ADHD). The book is called The Tiger makes a noise… and was written by Kamila and Petr Kops. The two-hour lesson was realized in the first grade of primary school.

- An escape game "About doggie and pussycat" get to know famous book "About doggie and pussycat from Josef Čapek and get to know Čapek's brothers. Escape game is done in powerpoint with links to internet. You have to return to powerpoint after finalizing each of the task. Better to play on computer or notebook (on tablet is difficult to return to original powerpoint)

Visit of library in Opava - 13.2.2020
Topic:Tadeáš - the inventor This time was prepared for us a lesson focused on reading skills. The librarian had various questions about particular parts of the story. There were some activities before reading, the children figured out what the story would be about. They found out all the important information while working with text. The aim of this lesson was to develop pupil´s interest in reading. Story prose with a child hero is very attractive for pupils of this age. Most of them would also love to become inventors! The tasks themselves were very creative, the children cooperated enthusiastically.

Topic: Fairy tale The librarian prepared a lecture about fairy tales for us. Together, we remained the main characteristics of fairy tales, named the most common fairy-tale heroes and divided fairy tales into folk and authorial ones. The librarian read us examples of fairy tales and at the end of the lesson we filled out a worksheet, which was focused on recognition of traditional Czech fairy tales. We love visiting the library and we are always looking forward to the visit.

Police fairy tales- 4.11.2019
A policewoman from the Police of the Czech Republic visited our school and introduced to our children the book “Police Fairy Tales”. The book contains 16 fairy tales – stories. Each story specifies to the basic principles of safe behaviour and other preventive information. The policewoman read one story from the book and discussed the situation with the children. How they would behave, what is wrong and what is right. To create an interactive and interesting environment, children could see and touch the police equipment, they obtained information about the work of criminology technicians, they got a small gift in the form of a unique fingerprint of their finger. They also received a Police Colouring Book, which they could colour while obtaining the preventive advice of police officer Honzík. At the end they got recommendation to read whole book and discuss content of more fairy tales to distinguish what is wrong and what is right and what is useful to do as a prevention to avoid dangerous situations.
